Who We are
The “soul purpose” and mission of the
Be Still Retreat
is to provide an environment for spiritual renewal through
the practice of Scriptural directives, slowing down to take more time in solitude and silence, spending focused time on our primary
relationship with Christ (the vertical) so that He can strengthen our ability to love and serve relationships (the horizontal)
within His kingdom and outside His kingdom in order to develop
deeper roots in Christ.
The Word will rightly divide what is in your heart. The treasures of your heart are made up of thoughts, attitudes, mind sets, experiences, generational beliefs, etc. Renew your mind to His Word so that your thoughts are His thoughts and your ways are His ways. Again, uproot, replant and guard your heart and mind for out of it are the issues and treasures of your life. Make the treasures of your life count for eternity. Make them heavenly treasures and not earthly treasures.
The Word discerns our hearts (Hebrews 4:12). Our hearts and our character are one. Our character is what determines our future. We also must renew our minds daily to line up with the Word of God. As we do that, our will changes. Desire to do what is right - to do what God wants - replaces what we want. But if the heart doesn't change, nothing changes. So judge your heart, daily!
Not only DAILY intake, but we need regular “retreats” in His Word in order to “advance” spiritually! I want to be saturated in His Word in order to combat the darkness on this side of Heaven. There is such an increase of battle fatigue, daily distractions, increasing temptations to slip into carnal desires (lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes, boastful pride of life), etc. that I need “extra attention” to His Word in order for me to stay close to the Author of my soul and hear His direction for my life! I want to know Him and love Him and follow Him!
If there is no root development, there will be no greater fruit development. When was the last time you spent an entire weekend focused on your relationship with Christ? The Be Still Retreat provides the time, space and opportunities to strengthen your walk with Christ. Simply put...
The mission of the Be Still Retreat is to restore the Biblical purpose of “retreat.”
